Ben May started working with the Honolulu church of Christ July 2010.
Ben grew up in Mississippi and has been preaching for 28 years working with congregations in Alabama and Tennessee.
He was with the greenfield congregation in Gurley, Alabama (near Huntsville) for 17 years. He has also worked as a chaplain with Huntsville Hospital.
Ben received his education at Faulkner University and Lipscomb University completing a B.A. in Speech Communication, M.A. in Bible and Master of Divinity. His education also included a study trip to Israel for graduate credit in 1994.
Ben taught ten years at Lipscomb University teaching Biblical Hebrew and Old and New Testament classes. He has also worked as an instructor for Faulkner University in the Military Education Program.
His recent mission work has been as the faculty leader of Lipscomb students to work with the West Mains church of Christ near Glasgow, Scotland every spring break since 2006.
Ben and his wife Keri have been married for 25 years and have two children: Rebekah, 20, and Austin, 16.
Ben has several “strange” hobbies: He is a performing magician and musician (mandolin and guitar). He has also been collecting (and wearing!) 1940’s neckties for several years
