HONOLULU CHURCH OF CHRIST

We are a diverse ohana (family) that shares a unique bond in our devotion to God through Christ Jesus. We are an ohana that believes that the Bible is God-Breathed, and that His Word is the only authority for our fellowship, doctrine, and worship. We are an ohana that values the example of the New Testament church. Our worship and family-life are characterized by a cappella singing, observance of the Lord's Supper each Sunday, Prayer offered in reverence and devotion, Reading, study and reflection on the scriptures.

We affirm that scripture teaches that one responds to His grace by :

Repenting of one's sins

Confessing that Jesus is the Christ - the Son of God, sent to redeem humankind to God.

Being immersed in water to have one's sins washed away to receive the gift of the Spirit of God.

Who We Are

We have devoted ourselves to pattern our church family after the example of the church as expressed in the New Testament writings. As a result, we are committed to maintaining a "non-denominational" approach to worship and family-life. We prefer to identify ourselves simply as Christians. Our only confession is that Jesus is the Christ who redeems humankind to God. Our congregation is autonomous and self-governing. Our teaching and preaching aspires to the study of scripture, rather than traditions and the teachings of men outside of scripture.
