It’s my understanding that some churches of Christ began to implement bible classes held before worship during the restoration movement.I don’t read of examples of classes in the early church.
Why is this method something you continue with?
If children are being taught in these classes by someone else, how does a parent know what their child is being taught unless they are in the class with them? When a child sits in worship with their parent(s), then they can hear what is being spoken and address with the Elders if something is mis-spoken or incorrectly taught. That parent can also educate their child in the truth at that time.
More questions:
Does your churches have a designated paid preacher in each congregation? If so, when did that begin? I don’t read of designated paid preachers in the early church.
In the video it’s noted, traditions of men are practiced in denominations and non denominations around the world. Traditions of men as a practice in His church is not established by Him.
There are churches of Christ who gather for church and worship without classes or paid preachers in their congregations and do as the early church as described in the scriptures when Christ’s church was established.
This video is made available by a church that has bible classes and I’m not sure if the ministers are paid ministers of this congregation and if so can you explain the reason? What is the role of a youth minister?
Thank you
